Typically, we are faced with two types of changes:
- We KNOW change needs to happen but are concerned about the process and outcome. Usually this has been a slow-boil problem over time, and the only thing keeping us back from making the decision is simply familiarity. You know the problems this vendor brings, for example – you know it needs to be changed, but at least you know what to expect while it remains unchanged.
- We experience an unexpected change and must scramble to make the best of it. A person leaves, a system fails, or, on the positive side, business growth shoots through the roof in a short period of time.
Change is hard. Transitioning from one IT provider to another is no different. Even when it’s the right move, switching IT providers or upgrading systems can feel risky. Will there be downtime? Will your team struggle to adapt? Will things break? Is this new vendor going to deliver on promises?
We understand that hesitation, and we’ve built our onboarding process around minimizing disruption and maximizing confidence.
Here’s how we help businesses navigate change successfully.
Change Management: More Than Just Tech
Change management isn’t just about installing new software or migrating data. It’s not just about cost analysis and buying new hardware. It’s about guiding people through a transition with clear communication, thoughtful planning, and ongoing support.
Here’s what we focus on:
- People, not tools
- Partners, not part-time help
- Clarity, not jargon
People, not tools
Many IT providers only see your network and its parts. They don’t see your business needs, circumstances, and your goals. They don’t see the people in your business. We know that your business is not the sum of your IT parts. We know that you don’t ever even want to think about IT, much less deal with its problems.
This is why we don’t see our tools as a selling point. We do tell you what technology is best for your circumstances. But we know that you are primarily looking for someone who is RESPONSIVE to your situation and who can deal with actual human PEOPLE.
Partners, not part-time help
In the same way, we come across many businesses in Aiken who are constantly fighting their disappearing IT providers. In some cases, these IT MSPs have slick websites with Aiken or Augusta landing pages. But once you sign the contract and need ACTUAL on-site help, you find that they have no one in the CSRA to help you. They are based in Sarasota or Charleston or Cincinnati. So they have to then find and contract with some other local-ish techs to get someone to your facility (on their own timeline). Even then you probably will never see this particular tech again. In one case we know about, the vendor had to send a tech from Greenville to Aiken!
In other cases, businesses get the “back-burner” treatment. You call about a critical problem and don’t hear back for hours or days. Finally, someone shows up (after you’ve contacted them for days…) only to spend a few minutes to “half-fix” the problem. A few days later, it breaks again, and you are back to leaving message after message with no response. Sometimes this provider is a “one man band” with other priorities (often, another full-time job), or the MSP simply treats you as a small fish (even if you are paying big fish money).
But our priority is to be a partner in your business growth. And these aren’t just words – our “churn rate” is FAR below industry average. Once customers find us, they stick with us.
Clarity, not jargon
Everyone loves to hear about SaaS, VMs, patch management, Endpoint Detection and Response, and…..nevermind, no one loves to hear that jargon except for IT people. Rather than wow you with our IT wizardry, we’d rather you understand in clear language what we are doing and what your system needs. Sure, we may have to use some of this language sometimes, but we make it a priority to break it down for you in practical, easy-to-understand lingo.
We want you to trust us, but we also want you to understand what is happening in the big picture. That helps you to see how our efforts are contributing to your success. For example, we want you to see how you are avoiding IT downtime and cyber incidents, as well as how your network is allowing your business to grow.
Conclusion
We’ve helped dozens of businesses transition smoothly. Our change management process is designed to build trust, reduce risk, and deliver results. If you need to change IT Managed Service Providers, give us a call and we will help ease some of that transition anxiety.
